Here at Ibiza Club News headquarters, we’re big fans of the back to back set. As long as the DJs vibe together and take it seriously, it’s a great way for them to step out of their comfort zone and mix things up a little. It’s also a great chance for the punters to get to see two of their favourite acts instead of one, so when they come off, they’re a win-win for everyone.
This year more than ever, back to back sets, between some of the biggest acts in the business, feel a lot more common than they have in the past, with different brands competing to squeeze as much talent as possible onto their lineups.
One party which has been making great use of the back to back set is Resistance (Tuesday nights in Privilege). With a season that only runs for nine weeks, Resistance have still managed to put together a very impressive lineup for their season, with just about all of the world’s biggest DJs gracing the decks at least once, the inclusion of many back to back sets have helped them fill their lineups with extra star quality on a weekly basis.
Even now, into the sixth week of a nine week season, they’ve still got a number of back to back sets that we’re really excited about on the horizon. Starting tomorrow night, when you’ll be able to catch a one off collaboration between Kölsch and Joris Voorn. If like us, you’re a fan of both of these guys, you’ll know that an appearance together is going to produce something really special and you’ll be just as excited to see this tomorrow night as we are.
Fast forward a couple of weeks and we’ve got one of the biggest back to back sets the island has ever seen taking place at Resistance week eight. The reason it’s so big is that you won’t just have two of your favourite DJs playing, oh no, on this occasion there’ll be three of them laying down tracks. Dubfire, Nicole Moudaber and Paco Osuna will all be teaming up for what is sure to be a very memorable night in Privilege’s Main Room.
Then, probably the biggest of all, two titans come together for the ultimate back to back experience for Resistance’s final episode of the season. Carl Cox will be teaming up with Adam Beyer to blow the socks off the venue. Either of these guys on their own is worthy of headlining any party so with the two of them together, we can only imagine how this one’s going to go down.
There’s so much quality still to come, but just think we’ve already seen back to back sets from Maceo Plex and Adam Beyer, Calx Cox and Joseph Capriati, Carl Cox and Nic Fanciulli and Jamie Jones and Loco Dice, to name just a few, all in the space of a nine-week season. Resistance really are the kings of the back to back set.
If you want to get down to Resistance for tomorrow’s party, or any of the other remaining dates, we highly recommend you buy your ticket well in advance. You can get them here now.
