Early in September, we brought you the news that San Antonio council have moved toward taking actions against hotels that have nightclubs and/or beach clubs on their premises. The council voted through a motion which urged the new Balearic government to amend the law allowing hotels to have nightclubs or beach clubs as secondary premises.

It appears that there is finally some good news for Ibiza’s nightlife after it emerged, that despite the proposed ban, should Space’s application for a license be successful, the brand will be ‘saved’ from conforming with future restrictions.

Since the initial application was made for the new Space hotel/beach club in 2015, there is legally nothing the council can do if the application is successful, which looks likely. In fact the reason behind the proposed new legislation, is thought to be the fact that Space applied for a San An beach club license.

The proposed new site of Space, is said to be the Reco des Sol Hotel, which is located near Ocean Beach, it could be the ideal place to house the new club and breath some life into the slightly stagnated San Antonio nightlife.
