Hey Reyus – welcome to Ibiza Club Radio! How was your first show?

Fantastic! It’s been amazing to showcase a load of my unreleased records, and I’m fortunate to have the show broadcast in a slot between legends like Vintage Culture and John Summit. No pressure at all, right?

You had Flashmob on as a guest for your first-ever show. That’s pretty special!

I’m so grateful to Flashmob for joining me. He’s obviously a much bigger artist who’s been in the industry a lot longer, so to be supported and acknowledged in this way—especially as an independent artist—means a great deal.

You’ve been in the studio putting together a lot of music. Tell us a bit about that.

Where do I even start? I’ve been bouncing between my home studio, London, and studios in Ibiza, like the Staar Player Villa. I’ve got a ridiculous number of tracks in the works—commercial but not cheesy—featuring what feels like 20 different singers. It’s a bit chaotic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. My plan is to keep releasing music as consistently as possible while I build my brand.

What’s your background? How long have you been making music?

I’ve been writing music since I was about nine, played my first clubs at 16, and went professional at 18 or 19—so it’s been a long ride. I spent the last half-decade focusing solely on the underground scene, but just over a year ago, I had a bit of a revelation. I got tired of the whole “underground vs. commercial” debate and decided to just make music how I wanted to, without overthinking it. Turns out, that was a solid decision!

If any of our readers check out a Reyus show this summer, what should they expect?

Expect a high-energy set with plenty of variety. I won’t be throwing in any of my slower tracks in the middle of a peak-time set—I do like to keep the mood alive—but I also won’t just stick to one genre or BPM the whole way through. I’ll be moving between 124 BPM and 134 BPM in an hour, mixing Afro, deep, techno, breakbeat, garage—you name it. If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s a monotonous set. Creativity is what got me into this, and stagnation is the enemy. Don’t worry, though—I won’t be dropping a random pop record in the middle of everything.

“One minute it’s deep and hypnotic, the next it’s breakbeat and bouncing; predictability isn’t part of the plan.”

Who are some of your musical heroes or acts that have influenced your sound?

There are loads, and because my sound is so broad, my inspirations change from track to track. That said, Tim Berg is the reason I first started writing music. I also love Depeche Mode, RÜFÜS DU SOL, and The xx—it’s an eclectic mix, but that’s kind of the point.

You’re in Ibiza, it’s late evening, and the sun is setting over the sea. You’re playing for a small crowd on an intimate, hidden beach. What track are you dropping?

Honestly, I’d go with my latest record, Mila. Maybe it’s because I’ve heard it so much, but I really love the organic, percussive melodies, and it’s the first track that came to mind.

Now it’s 12 hours later—the sun is rising, and a smaller crowd is still going. What track are you playing?

That would be Baby I Got You—it’s more uplifting and on the “commercial” side, which should hopefully give people that extra boost to keep going. No judgment if they’re running on fumes at that point.

What can we expect from you in 2025?

A lot! I plan to release a new track nearly every month. I may even drop an album—I’ve definitely got enough music for it, and it would help get everything out there. My radio show is continuing, I’ve got my own live events in London, and I’ve also got shows lined up in Ibiza and across the UK this summer. It’s going to be a big year.
