Space legend Carl Cox has a treat in store for us fans, as he will be retelling the history of electronic music and his own legacy, in a new documentary called ‘What We Started’. The film will also star DJ mag’s number one and ventriloquist dummy impersonator, Martin Garrix.
This seems like an odd couple to tell the tale of electronic music, but the filmmakers aim to explore parallels between Cox’s profound influence and Garrix’s own brand of mainstream EDM and undeniable global fame.

The team behind the production, Bert Marcus Productions, have previously made ‘Teenage Paparazzo’ and ‘How To Make Money Selling Drugs’ spoiler alert, don’t get caught, have drafted in fellow Ibiza legend Pete Tong as an executive producer and music supervisor who had this to say about the film;
“This is a film that honors the spirit of and gives a discerning perspective on different generations of this movement in an unprecedented way and leads you on a globe-trotting journey that explores a dynamic and multi-layered industry.”
We look forward to seeing it, unfortunately there is no release date or trailer at the moment so we’ll have to be patient.
