Hey Ibiza Club News Fam, this is the twin DJ/Producer duo Castor & Pollux where we recap Elements Festival 2023! We give you an inside look of the festival that took place on August 11th-14th given we played the event as well on that Friday. A bit of background on us, we are twins from NYC where we have been producing our own music for 9 years and have been DJing for 3 years where we have played alongside proclaimed acts such as Martin Garrix, Tiesto, Alan Walker, Alesso and Zedd. We have also released our original productions on great labels such as BODYWRMR (Revealed), Nexchapter and Turn It Up Muzik.
Elements Festival has had a great evolution over the past few years but 2023 was their biggest edition yet. NYC was the birthplace of the festival where it outgrew venues there which then gave Pennsylvania the chance to show their status. Long Pond, PA hosted it for the second year in a row at the beautiful Pocono Raceway and in that time, expanded in size and production.
Looking back on that weekend, Elements definitely claimed its title as the premier camping festival of the Northeast. They still have four major stages named Earth, Water, Fire and Air. In the early years, some of the stages were tucked away in the wooded area of the grounds but this year Earth and Fire were side by side in the open area of the raceway while the Water and Air stages were in the tree areas. This year also saw many more high profile acts perform at Elements than ever before given the scale and success of years prior.
Here are some highlights from us by stage:
Water Stage
This was one of the smaller stages compared to the Earth and Fire stages this year but had a very cool design as well as a variety of shapes and colors. The dancefoor was very spacious for many attendees to hang out and groove during the day time. Friday was a big day as SNBRN had a sick house set that brought total vibes as well as Westend closing out the festival on Sunday.
Air Stage
The Air Stage showed an array of house music deep in the woods where festival goers could climb the multiple structures it had around it. This stage was a bit smaller than most but it had a lot of talented acts throughout the weekend. From Tinlicker on Friday to having Elderbrook close out that very same day showed how far this stage has come over the years giving the crowd mesmerizing performances.
Earth Stage
The Earth Stage had such a total overhaul compared to 2022 given its size but also brightened all of the attendees with incredible artists. On Friday, the closer was Ganja White Night showing all the bass-lovers how they do it. Saturday saw heavy hitters that included PEEKABOO, Daily Bread and LSDREAM. The big day was Sunday to see two DJs that have graced stages all over the world. Rezz came back for a second year in a row and blew everyone away with the famous goggles and crazy firework show. Porter Robinson had the honor of closing out the festival where he played his famous classic Language and that definitely got people in their feels.
Fire Stage
The Fire Stage had main stage vibes throughout the entire weekend. The stage design took a similar shape to last year’s design with the sun face and arms reaching out and it had fire shooting out of various areas into the sky. Tchami. Skrillex, Lane 8, Chris Lake and more headlined this stage throughout the weekend and it was ultimately where we performed on Friday the 12th.
Castor & Pollux’s Performance
After an incredible set during the Thursday Pre-Party last year at Elements Festival, we were honored to be invited back to our hometown but this time play the Fire Stage on Friday. After 8 months of working on new music and preparing for the festival, we were ready to unleash an exclusive Castor & Pollux set full of our own productions as well as music for 2024. We were extremely happy with how the set panned out playing 7 new ID’s for the rest of this year and tracks for next year. Seeing many friends and fans come out early to our set was awesome to see. We came out firing with hard hitting peak time techno and gradually turned up the set to bigroom techno. Playing so many of our own tracks was special and it was surreal to see fans dancing to our music. It put a smile on our face to be back in our hometown and play a whole new set from us. All in all Elements put on another fantastic festival and pulled out all the stops this year. They are drawing more and more fans each year so the future looks bright for this upcoming festival!
