It appears that the proposed Space hotel and nightclub may have already been given the green light for a location in San Antonio after sources within San Antonio’s planning department confirmed a project to expand the Reco des Sol Hotel was recieved in July 2015.
News has yet to come from Space owner Pepe Rosello or Carl Cox who, up until now, has been the main source of news regarding the future of the brand. Although, according to the Man in San An the head of San Antonio’s planning department, Jaunjo Ferrer, claimed “It appears that they want to construct a Hotel/Disco and it seems that they would use the Space brand”.
The hotel, which is located near Ocean Beach, could be the ideal place to house the new club and breath some life into the slightly stagnated San Antonio nightlife.
So, is this the beginning of the next chapter in the Space story? Let’s hope so. Will it also be the beginning in a resurgence of San Antonio? Only time will tell but so far things are looking good
