Ibiza’s clubs have been recognised as some of the best in world and continue to dominate the world’s clubbing scene, with four out of the top ten best clubs in the world hailing from the island. The third International Nightlife Conference’s ‘Golden Moon Awards’ were held in Las Vegas on Wednesday and placed Ushuaïa 2nd, Pacha 4th, Space 5th and Amnesia 10th. Sankey’s Ibiza also gained recognition and was ranked in 16th place.

After a day of debating, the congress voted on a number of categories including influence on the music industry, marketing, technology and security. Space Ibiza also received the award for best historic club, which is basically a lifetime achievement award.  

2016 has been a bit of a rough year for the island’s clubs, with numerous raids by police and two of those mentioned in the top ten, Space and Pacha, being taken over by other interests or sold, this is coupled with a clampdown on open air venues and beach clubs by authorities. 

This was the third edition of the conference, next year it will be held in Ibiza, what clubs scoops the awards then is anyone’s guess.
