Part time DJ and full time cheese-ball, Steve Aoki has left us wondering here in the Ibiza Club News office in recent weeks. Wondering where the fuck he is going to pop his little head up next, to be more precise.

Last year the island stood by peacefully and watched as he ripped through Pacha with a 19 week residency entitled “Aoki’s Playhouse”, but this year we’re looking at Pacha’s already fully-booked 7 night program and there is one very noticeable omission. That would be Steve.

It’s been very quietly omitted though. No announcements about taking a year off the island, similar to what we’ve seen with Defected a few weeks back. And Steve Aoki is no small business, he is in the same league as Guetta or Hardwell, i.e very questionable tunes but a huge money making machine. So we doubt very much if he is sitting out a full season in Ibiza when he is at the very top of his popularity and money-making game.

We also doubt he is short of offers! So where could he go? Its either Amnesia or Ushuaia. No other club really makes sense for such a commercial act. Amnesia only has two slots left to be announced and one of those we already know will be HYTE and we would be very surprised if the other one wasn’t Music On (very very surprised I should say).

And so that only leaves Ushuaia. Ushuaia still has dates that haven’t been announced, and with fellow EDM crooners like Axwell & Ingrosso, Avicii and Hardwell on the line-up, it isn’t the hardest announcement in the world to imagine.
