Here’s something you weren’t expecting to see today.

Dutch Superstar DJ Laidback Luke has been confirmed for two Ibiza dates. That doesn’t sound too odd, does it? But it sounds very odd when you find out that he will be going back to his roots and playing a strictly techno night.

Taking over Eden with Taste The Punch on Friday the 30th of June and Friday the 28th of July, Laidback Luke will attempt to turn the clocks back for two exclusive underground techno sets giving you a rare glimpse into his love for techno.

Laidback Luke has been one of the most recognisable names in dance music in recent years but shocked many fans last year by playing a full-on techno set in New York reminding them of his capabilities as a legitimate techno DJ.

“I’m bringing it back to my 90’s roots, keeping it abstract and underground, bringing you the sound from when I first started out as a techno DJ. This was the sound I was playing when I first set foot in Ibiza.” 

Taste The Punch co-promoter Dean Shields has said, “This is exactly why we decided to take on Ibiza this summer. All the hard work will be worth it just to see Laidback Luke step behind the decks at Eden, our ‘Ibiza punchbowl’, and start dropping his favourite techno, exclusively for the Taste The Punch crowds. These headline techno sets will be some of those Ibiza moments that get talked about for years to come.”

Further lineup announcements are coming soon but going from names like Faithless, Mark Knight, Weiss, Marshall Jefferson and Lauren Lo Sung all announced so far, it’s clear that Taste The Punch mean business for their debut season on the White Isle.
