THE STORY BEHIND THE MUSIC
Following CLAIN’s extraordinary performance, we took a moment to sit down and delve into his set. Our chat with him centered around highlighting some standout tracks from his performance. Here’s his highlights…
Amadou & Mariam – Je pense à toi (Clain Remix)
One of my favourite remix for me, I love the violin and the guitar in the music
Dario D’Attis – Circolo Cubano
captivating blend of Cuban rhythms and contemporary house beats. From the infectious percussion to the seamless fusion of traditional and electronic elements, this track is a vibrant celebration of cultural fusion
Marco Effe – Janet
it’s a nostalgic time capsule that instantly transports me to the first National Music Day in Paris in 2014. The pulsating beats and infectious rhythms of “Janet” become a soundtrack to cherished memories with friends. The music captures the essence of that moment, evoking the shared joy and energy of the celebration. With every beat, “Janet” serves as a sonic bridge to the past, reigniting the camaraderie and excitement of that special day in Paris
Grupo Sabotaje – Muchachita (Clain Remix)
Instantly whisking me away to the colorful and energetic bars/clubs of Colombia. The remix infuses the original with an electrifying blend of traditional Colombian rhythms and contemporary beats
Brian Boncher – Ritmo Celoso
sizzling concoction of Latin rhythms and infectious beats. From the moment the track kicks in, you’re immersed in a world of lively percussion and sultry melodies. The fusion of traditional Latin elements with contemporary production
La Sonora Dinamita – Las Vela Encedidas (Clain Remix)
As you listen, the pulsating beats and infectious rhythm transport you straight into the heart of the Colombian nightlife depicted in the show – I got the idea to remix it when I listened it into ‘Narcos’
Africanism, Martin Solveig – Edony (Nico De Andrea extended Remix)
Nico De Andrea’s touch adds a contemporary flair, seamlessly blending African influences with modern electronic elements. “Edony” in this remix becomes a sonic journey that transcends borders and eras. I love playing it.
Lee Cabrera – Shake It
I have always followed and played tracks from BOg but this was the first track I came across the vocals from Afnan prince and also the artist Notre Dame, on the remix for the track. I was absolutely blown away by the melodies and bass line of this remix from Notre Dame and combined with the wonderful vocals from Afnan Prince, it just captivates me every single time so i had to include this track on this mix
