30 years ago dance music legend Paul Oakenfold took a trip to Ibiza which would change the outcome of his life and the lives of countless people across the world. That trip 30 years ago sparked the birth of club & festival culture and gave birth to one of the greatest DJs of our time. Oakenfold has embarked on his Generation World Tour to commemorate the Summer that changed it all and is stopping off in Ibiza for 4 weeks.

Paul Oakenfold will take the reigns of the legendary Pikes Hotel with Alfredo and Nicky Holloway for 4 dates across August kicking off Wednesday, August 2nd. The three-time Grammy nominated DJ will play extended sets spanning across three decades with an extensive record collection.

Oakenfold’s journey through dance music began in Ibiza in the summer of 1987 with friends Danny Ramping, Nicky Holloway and Johnny Walker. Like Ibiza does with so many individuals who experience its magic, they were hooked and returned to the UK with a slice of Ibiza in their suitcase to kick off Oakenfold’s label “Perfecto” and their club night “Spectrum” which started the renaissance period of dance music in the UK. In the 30 years since then, dance music has come so far with its dominance as a genre never in doubt.

Oakenfold is choosing to pay homage to that summer the best way he can. By curating magical sets on La Isla Blanca surrounded by new and old friends in one of the most iconic venues on the island, Pikes.
