Well, we’re nearly at Christmas and our main Prediction this week is that everyone in our office is going to drink and eat too much, embarrass themselves on more than one occasion and out on some unwanted extra pounds over the holidays but, apparently, that’s not newsworthy so we have to come up with something else to fill this week’s Predictions section.

So, we’re wracking all of our collective brains in here and there’s one thing that keeps coming. Why do Innervisions not have any representation on the island? It’s fair to say that the German label has been one of the biggest influences on the electronic music industry for quite some time now. Headhonchos Dixon and Âme are always in demand and the label is an evergreen source of quality tunes. So why have we not seen an Innervisions night appear on the island yet?

Melodic techno is certainly popular enough to warrant another club night, and the Innervisions brand is definitely capable of pulling together a season’s worth of quality lineups and we think the time is probably just about right for them to make their Ibiza bow so we’re predicting that 2019 will be the year that Innervisions will finally find a home in Ibiza.

They have already toured the brand, playing in some really unusual and iconic venues with some fairly out there concepts so it feels like the next thing for them to do is find a home in Ibiza. So, where to for Innervisions? Well, with such a popular brand, it’s probably fair to say they could have their picks of any of the island’s superclubs. However, some would suit them far better than other.

For us, there are three places that we think would work extremely well. First off, there’s Amnesia. It’s definitely big enough for a brand like Innervisions. Our only doubt is that it seems to be a place where big brands are leaving at the moment so we’re worried that things are happening behind the scenes that might frighten any other big brand looking for a new home away.

Then, of course, there’s Hï. The club is one that pretty much every brand in the world would love to get into to, especially one looking for its very first night in Ibiza. However, what night would you put Innervisions on? Glitterbox has just moved to Sundays so that means that Fridays are free, but with Afterlife already on Thursday it simply wouldn’t make sense to have to similar nights on consecutive days.

Then, there’s Pacha. Cocoon, Solomun, Labyrinth and Mosaic have all brought nights that would attract a similar crowd to Innervisions so there is clearly a demand for this kind of music in the club. The only problem is fitting them in. If another brand was to move on we think Pacha could be a pretty fit good for Innervisions.

If this Prediction does come true, we could see a new favourite night in Ibiza next year for a lot of people and another powerhouse of the scene joining the ranks of the island.
