Here at Ibiza Club News, we’ve been polishing our crystal balls, dredging our tea leaves and reading palms like the back of a cereal box at breakfast trying to figure out exactly what’s going to happen on the island next year. The only piece of information we’ve been able to figure out from all of this is that we’re definitely not psychic, so instead of trying to look into the future, we’ve decided to write some predictions instead.
So, this week we’ll be talking Space, not the vast expanse that infinitely exists in every single direction around Earth, the nightclub that stood proudly in Playa
Our prediction is that we are going to hear concrete news of a Space rebuild in the not too distant future. Where, you’re probably thinking, well for us it’s got to be San Antonio. Bossa will always be the spiritual home for Space but, unfortunately, those days are over so it just feels right that a new project would have a new home and there’s nowhere better on the island to try something new than San Antonio. The town is currently making a resurgence. O Beach is going from strength to strength, Eden is re-establishing itself as one of the island’s heavyweights and the changes to the West End have opened opportunities for other venues. San Antonio makes perfect sense.
The only question is; will they be able to recreate the vibe from the old Space in a new Space? With Carl Cox, Pepe Rosello and a number of other key players from the old Space involved, it’s very likely that they will capture the same essence in a new venue. Whether or not the clubbers will be as involved in a new destination is another question, but looking at the One Night Stand and Game Over events that the new team have been involved in and have taken place since Space closed, it’s clear that there is still a massive appeal for such a venture on the island.
Do you agree with our prediction or do you think we’re full of shit? Do you have any predictions of your own? Get in touch with us and let us know your thoughts.
