To celebrate Space Ibiza’s 27 years on the island, Cr2 records have teamed up with legendary Italian producer Giorgio Morodor to put together the 76 year old’s first ever compilation release. Space, the island’s and world’s best known and loved club, shut its doors earlier this month after another amazing year one with of the biggest single night parties the world has ever seen, over 100 DJ’s played the closing fiesta.
Morodor, himself a Space favourite for many many years, is a prodigious talent responsible for some of the best music produced over the last four decades. The italian has made careers, producing iconic tracks like Donna Summer’s seminal ‘I Feel Love’, Blondie’s ‘Call Me’, Bowie’s ‘Cat People’, the Scarface and Top Gun soundtracks and Flashdance.
This compilation is split into three Cd’s. The first and third disc’s are curated and mixed by Erick Morillo and Cr2 founder Mark Brown and the second is Morodor’s. Each mix pays homage to Space and the impact the club had on electronic music culture. Morodor’s disc is a superb collection of disco inspired hits featuring the likes of Joris Voorn, Joey Negro, Alexander Robotnik, Tensnake and the man himself.
