Good morning Ibiza Club News readers! Stepping aside to our usual news related to clubbing, we’re here today to shine some light on something truly amazing.
‘Choose Love’ is a new charity event curated by some of the core members of the UK based Charity Help Refugees, Pikes Hotel staff, DJ’s + some amazing chefs, all with the sole purpose of the to raise awareness and funds for the people currently suffering and caught up in the current refugee crisis. The main focus of the event will consist of a huge Syrian infused feast with the main chef on duties ‘Imad Alarnab’, a man that is living proof of love, care and affection can change the lives of anybody.
A more detailed backstory on how this came about is, Imad ran his very own restaurant in his home country ‘Damascus’, and was adored by every person who tasted his food! From going to owning three restaurants and 2 cafes, he lost them all when the war came crashing on down. From that, he had nothing and fled to the country in hope to find himself again and get his life back on track. From driving to Lebanon, flying to Turkey, sailing to Greece (with 54 people on a nine-person boat), walking to Macedonia and travelling through Serbia, Hungary, Austria, Germany and France, until finally, he reached the refugee camps in Calais. From there Imad and 64 others were based on the steps of a church and the future was not clear in any shape or form. As the days went on, Imad was donated a gas hob and cooked for everybody who was in need. Finally, roll on three months, Amad was able to leave his war-torn country and made his way to London, and from there he was picked up by well-known charities Help Refugees and UNICEF and ventured back to his favourite place in the world, the kitchen.
Roll into this day and age, Imad has changed the lives of many from his story and has now landed himself on the sunny plains of Ibiza, in which he will be creating a menu of his very own for all the locals at the iconic Pikes Hotel. With a strong focus on his own dishes infused with spices, herbs, scents and unique flavours you won’t get anywhere else.
Alongside Imad cooking up a storm, there will be music reeling into the early hours with some high calibre music from Denis Sulta, Mella Dee + Ben Gomori.
